A new toilet block is proposed for the Botanical Gardens as the current facility is reaching end of life. The aim is to install the new building in autumn next year. It is a ready-made structure that can be placed on site in a single day, with plumbing and final connections expected to take one to two weeks.
The block will sit within the gardens close to the current toilets. The existing facilities will stay open until the new ones are fully operational. The design being considered includes four pans, improved accessibility with an entrance positioned closer to the road, and a weatherboard style that reflects the traditional character of the gardens.
